Water kefir is a fantastic probiotic beverage that has many health benefits due to the beneficial bacteria that will help heal and keep you healthy.  It is a great substitute for cola beverages, as it has a mild sarkling taste with carbonation.  There are various strains of healthy bacteria and yeasts in these grains - the symbiotic relationship produces water kefir.   

Water kefir crystals are very sensitive in shipment, unlike other cultures, so to make sure you get vital grains, we ship them dry, which will rehydrate for you in a few days.  We ship enough to get you started making 1 quart of water kefir - 2 teaspoons dried grains, which will rehydrate to about 1/3 cup of grains.

Water Kefir grains typically have a mixture of healthy (friendly) strains such as : Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus casei rhamnosus , Lactobacillus alactosus, Lactobacillus casei casei, Lactobacillus pseudoplantarum, Lactobacillus plantarum, Streptococcus lactis, Streptococcus cremeris, Leuconostoc mesenteroide, Saccharomyces florentinus, Saccharomyces pretoriensis, Kloeckera apiculata, Candida lambica, Candida valida and possibly others.
